NOWNESS.com presents: Richard Ashcroft's "Are You Ready?"

We all used to love The Verve. You couldn't listen to Bittersweet Symphony without singing along, at least I couldn't so when I heard that former Verve frontman was making a go of it on his own, I immediately went on a search to find out just what he was doing.

The result? "Are You Ready?", funk-infused rock anthem that samples Bee Gees B-side “Our Time.”, the first single off of his solo album 'The United Nation of Sound'.
“The dream’s always been to create music inspired by Marvin Gaye and the legends of soul,” Ashcroft says.

Take a look at the amazing "Are You Ready?" music video by Giorgio Testi. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did. Watch Are You Ready? on YouTube

Great song! I've been wondering what Ashcroft was up to (didn't some of the remaining band members form a new band as well?). And I get so nostalgic when I hear Bittersweet Symphony. Definitely one of the best songs out there. Hope you have a great weekend! Oh, and we shoudl definitely go shoe-hunting/coffee drinking together one day :)
